Little Reader

I've been teaching Annelise to read for the last few months using the book, Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons. Fortunately, Annelise loved the book and we managed to complete the 100 lessons in about 103 days. It's probably the most consistent thing we've ever done together. Anyway, she now loves reading her own books from the library. Here she is reading The Foot Book, which she got in the mail from Nana and Gpa the other day.

Duplos are Great

I love these blocks. The kids never get tired of them. This is Annelise's new favorite thing to build. Can you tell what it is? After she made it she told us, "Look! I built a temple. And there's even an angel Moroni on top." We refer to him as "lego boy" and he is one of our best duplo pieces.

Movie Mouse

Nathan loved this mouse as soon as he set eyes on it last month. After reading the book that goes with it "If You Take a Mouse to the Movies" he know that this mouse loves popcorn. So as soon as I suggested popcorn and a movie he made sure the mouse was included.

Playtime

This is how Lily plays outside when her siblings ride bikes.

Artist

Lately Annelise has been referring to herself as an artist. She can spend hours a day with markers and paper. And glitter if I'm in a really good mood. Here she is displaying her latest "creation".

Birthday Cupcakes

Annelise requested "safe" cupcakes for my birthday this year. As if our family would make anything else? So here they are...chocolate flaxseed cupcakes with buttercream frosting. I loved how the kids wanted to help me by blowing out their own candles on their own cupcakes after I blew mine out the first time.
