March Highlights

Where did the time go? I've slacked off when it comes to blogging lately. I've been spending a lot of time lately working on our long term food/supply storage, which really means decluttering the house and organizing the rooms since there are NO BASEMENTS in Houston! I figure someday when we move it may actually not be that bad because we never had a big space to store stuff we didn't need. Anyway, so here are some of March's highlights or at least some of my favorite pictures.
We've spent a lot of time in the yard this month pulling gigantic weeds, digging up trees (our mexican lime trees didn't make it through this unusually cold winter so we replaced them with redbuds), pulling more weeds, laying mulch, trimming bushes, and planting a few flowers.
Lily spends her time standing on everything and everybody whether they like it or not.

Last Saturday we went to the SLB kids Easter party. We've been the last few years and the kids absolutely love it. This year Lily and I decided to take a ride on the train too!
When did this baby get so big? A couple of days ago I got out the slip 'n slide and the kids had water fun in the backyard. This is how Lily watched the fun.

Nathan plays "birthday party"

I just love this little boy. He has a great imagination for pretend play. Here is my favorite clip of Nate playing "birthday party".

At the park

Last week while Annelise was in dance class Nathan learned to climb the ladders at the park. He loved this. He kept saying, "Mom, Look at me!" He did not want to leave when it was time to go. Nathan is a very fun age. He is currently obsessed with Thomas the Train, he loves copying and saying everything Annelise does, and today he was quick to tell every man he saw at church "You're wearing a tie" and then he shows them the tie he's wearing. Nathan is very proud of being a boy. If anyone asks him his name he says, "I'm boy".

Light Eyes

I think Lily has the coloring I expected my first baby to have. It looks like she is growing in light brown hair and blue/gray eyes with greenish/brown flecks in the center. Okay, that's a confusing description, but the point is her eyes are light and not dark brown like the other too. More what I'd expect from the eye colors of her parents.

Lily is trouble now that she crawls and pulls to a stand. She loves babbling and following everyone around the house. She gets super excited when she sees a cheerios box. She is already happier feeding herself than letting someone else do it for her.
