One conversation we had with Annelise this morning:
I feel really lucky today because a holiday means Brian has the day off and I have help at home! Brian took Annelise and Nathan to the pool this morning, so I have a little extra time to just hold the baby and upload a couple of pictures. Lily will be two weeks old tomorrow and so far I couldn't ask for a better baby. She is generally sleeping two consecutive four hour stretches with an in between feeding and possibly a couple of extra hours after that. I figure if I sleep when she does at night I can survive this summer. Hopefully she will keep it up. Lily is also able to fall asleep without fussing or a pacifier about half the time. This may seem trivial, but I don't remember Annelise or Nathan ever being able to do that. Could this be my first easy going baby? I also hope she keeps this up.
This is pretty much what happens anytime I try to hold or feed Lily. Books get pushed into my hands and Nathan especially demands to read them now. This may be the only way to give attention to three kids at the same time.

At the hospital and the first day back home Nathan was a little unsure of having a new baby. In the hospital on his first visit he wouldn't even look in her direction. At home he created a safety perimeter between him and Lily. This picture shows his cautiousness. He has quickly warmed up to her and likes touching her and bringing me her blankets and other things that belong to her.
Annelise loved Lily instantly. On Lily's first day home, Annelise started swaddling her "baby Neptune" dinosaur in a bathroom hand towel. Does it look like swaddled Lily?
Nana came this past week to help with the birth of the baby. So far no baby, but it has been awesome having her here. Annelise is so happy to have her (pretty much won't leave her side) and Nathan warmed up to her within a few hours since he didn't remember her. Last time he saw her he was only nine months old. Here are some pictures of the fun they've been having.
On Sunday morning I actually managed to take a couple of pictures of the kids when they were looking at the camera. This is so unusual that I had to post them.
Happy 6th anniversary! Brian and I were fortunate enough to celebrate our anniversary by going out to eat on Friday without the kids and without going into labor. We realized in those six years we have lived in 3 states, 4 apartments and 1 house, had 2 kids and one any day now, finished school once for me and twice for Brian, and most importantly we are super happy! We really can't imagine our life any better than it is right now. Hopefully this picture doesn't make us look like we've aged a lot in six years. The kids definitely could have done that to us.
