the grocery list

This week Annelise has started "helping" me with the grocery list. She insists on using the same pad of paper I do and then asks me what we eat for dinner. Each time I name a meal she draws it on the list. So far only meals she approves of make the list. From the picture you can see birthday cake, pizza, hamburgers and chips.

Bigger

Today Nathan just seemed bigger. Maybe it's because he wanted to ride the scooter instead of the trike. Or maybe it's because he's started to make all kinds of requests. My favorite recent ones: "Mom, will you buy me a basketball?" and "Mom, will you buy me a helicopter?" Nathan's growing vocabulary might be it. We find it amusing that for months now every day when Brian comes home from work the first thing Nathan always says is, "Dad, you a boy." Always. Having another boy in the house appears to be very important to him.

Look alike?

I think Lily is starting to look a lot more like Annelise.

Annelise's performs

Since we will be out of town for the recital, Annelise's dance teacher Miss Lauri was kind enough to have the girls perform their two dances for us on the last day of class ("If YouCan Dream" for ballet and "Big Girls Don't Cry" for tap. It looks like she was also sweet enough to put Annelise front and center for this little in class performance. Annelise tells me that she usually is in the back which makes sense and can be seen in this picture since she's obviously one of the younger and smaller girls in the class. Annelise absolutely loved dancing this year and can't wait for swimming lessons this summer.

Happy Birthday Lily!

Happy Birthday sweet little Lily! How can you already be 1?

Lily enjoyed strawberry banana cupcakes for the first time today and true to her nature, I even had to hold her so she could suck her two little fingers while I made the cupcakes. So spoiled, but I could just hold you forever Lily. We love you!

The new library is open!

We moved here nearly four years ago knowing that a library would be built just down the road. It finally opened last month and it so awesome to have one close by! We go all the time now and we are definitely reading more. Even Lily seems to think she knows how to read Fancy Nancy Pajama Day.

Breakfast help

So Nate spilled all the cereal he didn't eat on the floor this morning. Brian and I told him to pick it up hoping that it would help him remember to be more careful next time. Within a few seconds they were all under there helping.

Milk

Pouring milk for the kids is not something we do efficiently around here. It just so happens that my third child has added a new dimension to food allergies at our house by reacting to soymilk, so she gets the almondmilk. 3 kids, 3 types of milk.
