Last July before Annelise turned 3 we had her completely potty trained at night. Then for some reason at 31/2 she was back in diapers at night. A few weeks ago we did away with diapers and went back to underwear. Brian would wake her up around 11 and take her and then it was up to her to make it the rest of the night. The first two weeks were bad and I did a ton of laundry. However, Annelise is now back to doing fantastic. Every night that she stays dry and wakes herself up to go to the bathroom, in the morning we give her a dime for her piggy bank. She knows that she is saving her dimes to buy a bike with training wheels so that she can have a bike like "the big kids" in the neighborhood. We think she is really trained this time. Last night Brian went to wake her up and said, "Annelise do you need to go to the bathroom?" Her independent self replied with, "No. I'll go when I wake myself up." Well she didn't get up, but she stayed dry so we are happy!

Now I'm just hoping that Ruffles hangs in there until we are able to visit again. Annelise will be so disappointed if she's not around and I don't think I'm ready to explain what happens to dogs when they get old. Hang in there Ruffles!!!

Indoor Hockey

The other night Annelise made up a game of "ice hockey". We were amazed how quickly Nathan caught on. In case you can't tell, the puck is the orange baby ring and the hockey sticks are the wands.

Yesterday afternoon we made cookies for the ward chili cook-off tonight. Annelise loves it when we make cookies (she told everyone this during sharing time last week at church) and looks forward to eating cookie dough off the beater. Nathan is smart and now must be included in the fun. So at fifteen months, he enjoys privileges I'm sure Annelise never had at that age.

3 Year Old Reasoning

Yesterday as we were driving in the car enjoying our 70 degree day, Annelise starts to ask us when we can go see Nana and Gpa and play in the snow she saw on the webcam last week.

Annelise: They have snow in Salt Lake City. We can get on an airplane and go see them and I can play in it.

Mommy: That would be fun. But we don't have any tickets to fly there right now. We need some money to buy them.

Annelise: Hmm, I know a different plan. Don't policemen give tickets?
